ACADEMIC SPECIALTIES

My publications have been in the areas of epistemology, metaphysics (including philosophy of mind and philosophy of action), philosophy of language, and the history of ethics, but I consider myself a philosophical jack-of-most-trades and have taught many courses in ancient, medieval, and modern history of philosophy (Plato, Hume, Kant, and Peirce are special interests) as well courses in ethics, esthetics, philosophy of science, and logic.
